La Cresta is located in Riverside County California in the West Foothills of Murrieta. This area is also known as the Santa Rosa Plateau and is a bit of an undiscovered paradise amidst the hussle/bussle of the surrounding cities. The area is made up of 5 acre minimum parcel sizes and is home to primarily ranches, estates, vineyards and groves. The topography is gentle rolling hills and being only about 10 miles from the coast "as the crow flys" the area gets a daily gentle afternoon breeze from the coast that keeps the temperature about 8-10 degrees cooler than the lower Murrieta and Temecula areas. The area also enjoys the use of 8600 acres of protected oak studded preserve land with endless trails to hike, bike or horseback ride. Tenaja Falls is a favorite to hike to after the winter rains give way to vernal pools and the water falls.
